Once upon a time, not too long ago, if you were a woman who wore clothes over a size 14 your clothing choices were limited to cheap looking, baggy and unattractive clothes that made you look old before your time.My how times have changed! There has been a cultural shift in the acceptance of plussize women, particularly in the fashion industry. Women's plus size clothing is no longer relegated to the back of the isle racks. Now days, it's easy to find trendy plus size clothes such as: dresses, workout clothes, evening wear and swimwear.Plus size celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Camryn Manheim, and Star Jones have also helped to usher in the era of plus size fashions. These women take pride in looking fashionable no matter how much their weight fluctuates. You can even see a once thin actress, Kirstie Alley, strut her stuff in her new cable show "Fat Actress".

This would have been unthinkable just a few years ago.Even the high fashion industry has taken notice. Models such as Emme have become famous for modeling large size fashions for women. Agencies are also looking for aspiring plus size models. Women looking for designer plus size clothes online will not be disappointed. In the past, clothing for large size women 22w to 44w was extremely difficult to find ? and forget about being fashionable.

Now, companies are springing up like Making It Big, who cater exclusively to this fashion hungry niche of clothing for big women. If you are looking for big women clothing, you now have more choice than ever when it comes to large size clothes for women.Another old taboo in full figured clothing was that plus size women didn't look good in ladies intimate apparel. Oh, I'm not talking about women wearing a large size bra (which it's now easier to find comfortable large size bras). Plus size bras have been available for a long time. No, I mean really sensual full figure intimate apparel.Designers have discovered that any woman will look good in intimate apparel if it's made right for her body.

Now, even in this fashion segment, plus sized women's clothing has grown leaps and bounds. Plus size intimate apparel comes in all colors, styles and sizes, so that you can show off your sensual side too, ladies!Need nice clothes for work? You can find an array of plus size suits, including: plus size pants suits, and plus size women's suits.Going to the beach or pool? It's now possible to find a wide selection of plus size swimming suits. Where plus size swim suits used to be mostly black and unattractive, they are now very colorful and figure flattering.Getting married? Obtaining a wedding dress plus size is no longer a huge ordeal. If you are looking for a large size wedding dress, with all the frills, or a plus size informal wedding dress, you'll be delighted at the selection you'll find online and offline. No bride should have an ill-fitting wedding dress, or be denied beautiful style that their thinner sisters enjoy.

Many wedding boutiques and some online outlets offer beautiful plus size wedding dresses, and be assured that your plus size wedding dress will fit and look beautiful.Yes, my friends. The plus size women's clothing revolution has arrived. Our plus size sisters can now have a closet full of great looking clothes and keep pace with the best fashionistas. Not only is this great for plus size women, it's great for society as well. Everyone can now see that a woman's inner and outer beauty has nothing to do with size..

The clothes closet is one of the fastest places in our households to get cluttered. It's so easy to stick something that you don't know what to do with in the closet. After all it's out of the way and keeping some other part of your house from becoming cluttered. The clothes closet also becomes a storage area for clothing and accessories that are outdated, ripped, or stained. It is a holding place for clothes that might come back into style, accessories that were bargain but we don't really like, and things that cost us a fortune but that we'll never wear again because we don't like them, don't fit into them, or don't lead that kind of life anymore.Cleaning out a clothes closet can hurt.

It's hard to throw away stuff that is still good, stuff that cost us a lot of money. But it has to be done. So think ahead to how good it will feel to have a closet filled with all of the things you like. Think ahead to how good it will feel to see everything in your closet. Think how nice it will feel to look in your closet and not feel guilty about all those things you have but can't wear anymore.

Be ruthless, have fun and organize your closet! 1.Begin by getting the proper supplies: plenty of hangers, an expandable shoe rack, belt hook, tie rack, a closet doubler (another hanging clothes rod that hangs from your current one) or pants and skirts hangers (the kind that hold multiple pairs). I prefer the closet doubler; I find it more convenient to see and get to the clothes I want. 2.Remove everything (yes, everything!) from your closet. As you remove items place them in one of five piles: KEEP, REPAIR, GIVE AWAY, THROW AWAY, MOVE.3.The KEEP pile should be things that belong in your closet that meet these criterions: they fit you now, you like the way you look in them now and they are in style now. This includes all clothes, shoes, hats, belts, ties, etc.

If you are not sure it fits, try it on now. Your KEEP pile should include the clothes you love to wear and the clothes that make you feel good when you wear them. It should include your special occasion wardrobe, too, as long as it meets the above criterion. 4.The REPAIR pile is for those items you want to keep but need a repair. If you are sure you will wear them once they are repaired, take them to your local dry cleaner or alterations shop and have them repaired.

If you can (and want) to do the work yourself, gather the repair items, put them in your repair center and give yourself two weeks to repair them. If you haven't gotten around to them by then, gather up the clothing and donate it. 5.The GIVE AWAY pile should be the articles of clothing (or other items that found their way into your closet) that don't meet the above criterion but that are in good shape. Put these articles in a box or bag and put them in the trunk of your car now. At your earliest convenience take them to your local charity.

Remember to get a receipt for tax purposes. 6.The THROW AWAY pile is for all of those things that no longer serve any useful purpose. This includes items that are ripped or stained. Bag those items up and put them out with your household trash now. 7.The MOVE pile is for those items that don't belong in your closet.

Take the time now to put those items where they belong. If there is no room to put a particular item away, make note of the area and put it on your list of places to declutter. Stuff it in there for now or put it in the garage, but don't put it back in your closet.8.Now you are ready to put all of the things you want to keep back in your closet. Sort out your KEEP pile into types of clothing. Separate your slacks, your shirts or blouses, your jackets, suits, etc.

9.Start with one type and hang each item neatly on a hanger, facing all items and hangers the same direction. If you share a closet with someone, keep your clothing separate. 10.When you are finished with the hanging portion, put your shoes on your shoe rack, your ties on the tie rack, your belts on the belt hook. Once again, if you share a closet keep your items separate. If you have some odds and ends that need a home in your closet, consider buying some inexpensive organizing containers to store them.

Many people are finding that an over-the-door pocket shoe holder is great for odds and ends and accessories. You can see through the pockets and the items are easily accessible.Wow! You did it. Doesn't it feel good? Stand back and look at your closet and give yourself a pat on the back. Invite your friends over to see all of your hard work. Celebrate by treating yourself to something special.

You deserve it..

Okay, do you really want to make all your own backpacking clothes? More power to you, and good luck. After the first hundred tedious hours of sewing I started buying gear again. However, there are SOME backpacking clothes you can make cheaply and quickly. A few examples follow.Making Your Own Ski MaskFind any old thermal underwear top or bottom, preferably made of polypropylene. Cut off a sleeve or leg, pull it over your head, and mark where your eyes and mouth are with a pen or marker.

Cut the holes and cut off the extra. You just made a balaclava. My homemade balaclava weighs less than an ounce. Sew the top shut if you want, or just pin it shut with a safety pin. Making your own backpacking clothes doesn't get much simpler than this.Hand WarmersPut your hands inside a pair of light socks and mark where your fingertips are. Cut five holes in the end of each, and you now have 1-ounce hand warmers that leave your fingers free.

Use them under other gloves or mittens in colder weather. When you need to remove your mittens to tie your shoes, you won't totally expose your hands.A Two-Dollar Insulated VestYou can buy 1/2" poly batting at any fabric store (I bought mine at Walmart). Unroll it and cut a piece out, roughly two by four feet. Put a hole in it for your head. You'll wear it like a tunic, but under your jacket.

It will be among the lightest backpacking clothes you'll own. Mine weighs four ounces.I took my vest, along with my homemade balaclava, over glaciers, to the top of 20,600-foot Chimborazo, in Ecuador. I also wore it to the top of Mount Shasta in California, and on many other trips. I made it as a disposable vest, but it's held together for years now.Feel free to contact me with ideas for any simple backpacking clothes or equipment that can be made at home. However, if it can't be explained in a paragraph, it's probably too complex and time consuming for me.

I prefer to backpack, not sew..

This article is based on the following book:What is the Emperor Wearing?Truth-Telling in Business RelationshipsBy Laurie WeissButterworth-HeinnemanISBN 0-7506-9872-1217 pagesOnce upon a time, an emperor who loved clothes was approached by two con men who made him an offer he couldn't refuse. They promised to weave him a special cloth that would be invisible to anyone that is stupid or unworthy of their position. As the work proceeded, theemperor sent high-ranking officials to inspect the cloth. While these officials saw only air where the cloth was supposedly being made, they reported that the work was proceeding well for fear of being considered stupid or unworthy of their rank. Finally the emperor and his entourage came to inspect the cloth.

None could see it, but all, also fearing to be known as stupid, proclaimed its magnificence. The con men pretended to cut and sew while everyone supported the deception. When the emperor wore clothes made from the "fabric," the crowd likewise pretended to see clothes. A small child, viewing the naked emperor, announced to all that could hear: "theemperor has no clothes!"This book provides valuable stories similar to the one told above. These are stories of ordinary individuals in the workplace who are striving to steer a course between deception and damaging confrontation by developing truth-telling skills.By: Regine P.

Azurin and Yvette Pantillahttp://www.bizsum.com"A Lot Of Great Books....Too Little Time To Read" Free Book Summaries Of Latest Bestsellers for Busy Executives and Entrepreneurs Mailto: mailto:freearticle@bizsum.com BusinessSummaries is a BusinessSummaries.com service.

Thinking of Giving Clothes as a Gift? There's one Recipient on your Gift List Who's Sure to be Thrilled. When it comes to the art of giving, a gift of clothes is fraught with peril. We've all had encounters from the receiving end. We all have stories to tell. If you don't, you will, just give it time.Mine started early. My grandmother, having survived the Depression, knew how to stretch a dollar.

Buying clothes for her grandkids meant getting everything 3 or 4 sizes too big so we could "grow into it". We endured our baggy clothes, with the sleeves and pant legs rolled up, until we were finally big enough to wear them with dignity. By which time we'd more or less destroyed them.??Then there's my husband. Heaven forbid I should try to give the man a Polo shirt with an uneven hemline. Polos are usually made longer in the back to help them stay "tucked", but hubby goes un-tucked -- always.

He shuns any shirt that breaks his rule, no matter how subtly. For an otherwise easy-going guy, it's almost perverse. If you must give clothes this season, there's one giftee on your list sure to look great in any outfit you buy him. He'll wear your gift with pride and appreciation, head held high and tail wagging.?That's right, your dog. Or your best friend's dog. It's so easy it's almost a no-brainer.?Dogs love any kind of attention you lavish on them.

So, Spike will wear his outfit - whether it's cute or ridiculous - as soon as he sees how happy it makes his owner. Fido will eat up all that extra attention he gets from strangers. And Fifi might even learn to Vogue for the camera.?Clothes shopping for dogs is a lot like clothes shopping for babies. Unless you're going for practicality, cuteness is the bottom line. And it's easy to accomplish, given that any dog wearing clothes looks pretty darned cute.?Choices in dog clothes range from winter sweaters to football jerseys and summer tees.

You can get a set of flannel PJ's for bedtime or a terry robe for after bath. There's even an entire line of Harley clothes for dogs, complete with leather cap and studded collar. Dog costumes made for parties and holidays are just too cute for words.?If you really want your gift to be a hit with admirers, accessorize. Try a designer dog collar and maybe a cool pair of sunglasses--they make them just for dogs. And I recently heard that leg warmers are making a come back.?Got a mischievous sense of humor? Making the baby look too silly might be a no-no, but it's good clean fun when it comes to dressing up your dog.?There's really only a couple of rules you'll need to keep in mind when shopping for dog clothes.

One is that if the dog in question is an avid chewer, you should avoid buying him anything too tempting. Shiny buttons, fringe, and feathers are examples that come to mind. An object that can easily be chewed off and swallowed becomes a choking hazard or can get stuck in the dog's digestive tract.?The other rule is that any dog, no matter how tolerant, will be more comfortable wearing clothes that fit. Proper fit typically requires measuring from the dog's collar to the base of her tail for length. Most garment's girth can be adjusted with velcro tabs, but could still be an issue with a barrel-chested breed such as a bulldog.

Measurements are in inches. Remember that a dog will never "diet down" into an outfit that's too small , or -- unless you're shopping for a puppy or a pregnant female -- "grow into" an item that's too big. (Sorry, Grandma.)Oh, and one more thing--if you're handy with a sewing machine, you can make your own dog clothes creations. Just don't forget?to include an opening for the dog to relieve himself. Don't laugh, it happens a lot! Now, if you're shopping for your own dog, you're all set.

If you're buying clothes for someone else's dog, I've got a few more tips for you.Surveys conducted on the subject of gift preferences of men and women have shown that men prefer gifts that are more playful or practical. So, if the dog's owner is male this might translate into a doggie Harley jacket or a reflective hunting vest (more on practical clothing in another article!). Women, on the other hand, prefer gifts that are beautiful, memorable, and personal--except if the woman is someone you don't know well. The more distant the relationship between giver and receiver, the riskier it is to give a personal gift. So, be they man or woman, if you don't know the dog owner very well, you probably shouldn't be buying dog clothes.

This leaves us with the woman who's a loved one, dear friend, or close personal acquaintance. It shouldn't be hard to find an item for her dog that's either beautiful or memorable or both, and it will of course be personal!Well, I hope you'll have fun picking out something nice for the canine on your shopping list. If you get a chance, send me a photo. I love cute doggie pics and I'll add them to my site. Think of it as a gift that I'm sure to appreciate!.

Are you expecting a baby? You might be tempted to buy baby's clothes, although you know most of the time baby will always sleeping and crying during their first months, which obviously don't need fancy clothes to wear. But still you find dressing your baby with cute outfit will be an unforgotten moment. You will find various kind of cute baby outfit. Dresses, jumpers, pajamas, and swimsuits are popular baby clothes most parents would like to have. Colors choices can be anything, but mostly baby girl wear pink color and baby boy wear blue color. But do not think, however, that this is the only color in which you can find for baby clothes.

You can find baby outfits in almost all other colors. The designs are also awesome for baby. You can find several designs, featuring flowers animals, toys, etc. You can also find many several pieces from brand name designers. Basically, baby clothes are not really expensive. But when it comes to branded baby clothes, you may find that they are rather expensive in comparison to lesser-known manufacturers of clothing.

Though they may last a little bit longer, you will have to decide if the name on the label really justifies the price difference.People spend a large portion of income on clothes, include for their baby. But, since babies are growing, you are unlikely to get as much use out of this clothing as you would like, right? So, you need to buy baby clothes carefully and hopefully it will last long although not from branded name. Here is what you should consider when buying baby clothes:

Choose baby clothes with an ease of changing where you can change it anytime.
Make sure that the clothes have an easy access for diaper changes as well.
Try to get clothing with a stretchy neckline or those having a snap to widen the opening, as it will facilitate the changing of clothes. Clothing with snap crotches is great for diaper changes.
In addition to ease of changing, it is also important to consider the location of decorative items like snaps, buttons etc. verses baby's comfort.
You should give a thought to how the baby will be laying on these decorative items of clothing and how these accessories may be annoying.
Prepare for a set of long johns for winter so that you can keep your baby warm.
If you want to save money, and also knowing that your baby will grow rapidly, it's okay if you consider to buy used baby clothes as long as it still good and clean. You can also sell your baby clothes at the thrift stores or directly to other parents who are looking for baby clothing after you realize that your baby has grown up bigger..

You just bought a pair of Ugg boots to go with your hip hugger jeans and trucker cap. And that's not all. You scour the fashion magazines for the latest trends, then go running out to fill your closet. Trendy is good, right? Uh, not so fast. Keeping abreast of the trends in fashion is essential to not looking outdated, but having a closet full of trendy clothes can quickly turn into a big waste of time and money, unless you're Paris Hilton.

Maybe Paris can afford to buy and discard clothes like candy, but the average woman needs a wardrobe with some staying power. All the fashion experts agree that you should build your wardrobe around classic pieces like: blazers, tailored suits, neutral bottoms and tops. Classic clothing lasts for years and is very versatile. On the other hand, trends come and go. Those Ugg boots you just bought along with the trucker caps are already pass? (according to fashionistas in the know). You can either give them away to Good Will or keep wearing them because you really like them.Trends in fashion are very fickle: some last a long time, while others fizzle in a single season.

Because of this, it's almost impossible to keep up with every single trend.
